Candlemaking FAQ & Policies

Candlemaking experiences are designed for participants ages 10 and up. While we’d love to include younger children, the use of fragrance oils and hot wax makes candlemaking unsuitable for those under 10. All guests between the ages of 10–18 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the experience—unaccompanied minors are not permitted in the store. For safety reasons, children under 10 are not allowed in the workshop space.
Candlemaking experiences typically last about 1 hour, depending on group size. Afterward, your candle will require an additional hour to fully solidify. Candles may not be taken home earlier than 2 hours after your class start time. For example, if your class begins at 12 PM, your candle will be ready no earlier than 2 PM. Please note, there are no exceptions to pick-up times.
If you’re unable to wait, you are welcome to return on another day to pick up your candle, or arrange to have it shipped (additional charges apply). While your candle sets, feel free to browse our shop or enjoy the surrounding area. If you plan to take your candle home the same day, please return before closing. For shipping, let our team know and we’ll provide a quote based on your group size and destination.
All candlemaking experiences and private party purchases are final sale. If you need to make changes, please use the reschedule link at the bottom of your Booking Confirmation Email to cancel or move your reservation to another date and time.
- 48+ Hours Notice: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your scheduled workshop will receive a credit on your account to use toward a future candlemaking experience.
- Less Than 48 Hours Notice: Reservations cannot be canceled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the experience. Please note that the reschedule/cancellation link will be disabled at this time.
Third-Party Vouchers:
- With 48+ hours’ notice, your voucher will be reinstated in full for a future experience.
- With less than 48 hours’ notice, your voucher will be reinstated for its promotional value only. To rebook, you will be required to pay the difference between the promotional value and the current full price of the experience.
Thank you for understanding that due to the popularity of our experiences and private events, we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.
All private party bookings are final sale. If you need to make changes, please use the reschedule link at the bottom of your Booking Confirmation Email to cancel or move your reservation. Cancellations do not qualify for a refund; instead, you will receive a credit (pass) toward a future private party.

If eligible, use the reschedule link at the bottom of your Booking Confirmation Email to either cancel (no refunds; credit toward a future experience only) or move your reservation to another date and time.
Important: The reschedule/cancellation link will be disabled less than 48 hours before your scheduled class, in accordance with our 48-hour cancellation policy.
For the courtesy of all guests, experiences begin promptly at the scheduled time. To respect our staff and fellow participants, please arrive on time—late seating is not permitted. Guests who arrive late may be accommodated in the next available candlemaking experience, subject to availability.
Our store is highly fragrant, and if you are sensitive to scents or prone to headaches around fragrance, this experience may not be the best fit for you. To review the fragrances we offer, please visit our website, where you’ll find a full list of available scents and their notes. We encourage you to explore this in advance to ensure you’re selecting the fragrances best suited for your home.
We love pets, but for their safety and comfort, fragrances and hot wax make our studio unsuitable for animals. Pets are not permitted in the studio.
Please note that our stores do not have public restrooms. If you’re visiting our Manhattan Beach or Brea locations, the mall offers multiple restrooms for your convenience.
Due to the popularity of our candlemaking experiences, we strongly encourage making a reservation in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Our sessions often sell out quickly. Walk-in guests are welcome but will only be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis and only if space and an instructor are available.
Due to limited workshop space, all attendees must have a ticket to watch or participate. The only exception is for adults accompanying minors.
We provide aprons for all participants, but we recommend leaving your Chanel and Gucci at home—fragrance oils can be tough on fabrics!
For safety reasons, we do not allow the addition of any potentially flammable items to our candles. The only embellishments permitted are the gemstones we provide, available for $2 per stone. Please note that outside materials—such as jars, essential oils, fragrance oils, wicks, crystals, or dried flowers—may not be brought into our workshops.
Only food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted during private parties.
Our workshop set up is different at each location. If you have any special requests or needs, please indicate so in the special requests/notes section upon checkout and we will do our best to accommodate.
