Workshop FAQ & Policies
Please read through the following frequently asked questions and policies before booking a candlemaking workshop. Please note, we reserve the right to change our policies at any time.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Due to the popularity of our candlemaking workshops, we highly recommend that you make a reservation to secure your spot for your desired date and time. Our workshops frequently sell out. Walk-in guests will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis only if there are open spots available in a workshop.
Can I share a seat?
Each person who attends a workshop must have a ticket. Due to the limited size of our workshop space, we do not allow anyone to watch or participate in the class without a ticket.
What should I wear?
While we do provide aprons and gloves for participants, we recommend that you leave Chanel and Gucci at home—the fragrance oils that we use can be hard on fabrics!
How long will the workshop last?
The candlemaking portion of the workshop will last 1 hour. Once you've poured your candle it will take another 1 hour for the candle to solidify. There is plenty to do while your candle cures, including shopping. If you'd like to take home your candle same day please be sure to come back before we close. You may also come back another day to pick up your candle if you prefer. If you would like us to ship your candle to you, please let us know and we'll provide a shipping quote depending on the size of your group and where the shipment is going.
We're celebrating a special occasion, can I set up food and drinks?
We only allow food and non-alcoholic drinks in our private parties.
Is there an age restriction?
Unless otherwise noted, workshops are suitable for ages 10+. While we'd love to host younger kids, the supplies required for candlemaking (fragrance oils and hot wax) aren't suitable for a younger crowd.
I booked for a date that I can no longer attend, what should I do?
Please give us a call at (202) 340-5536 or contact us to let us know that you can no longer attend. A Banter & Bliss representative will be in touch to help you out. Please refer to our cancellation policy below for more details.
What's your cancellation policy for candlemaking workshops?
All candlemaking workshops purchased at promotional pricing are final sale. If you've purchased a workshop ticket at a promotional price and need to cancel, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and workshop passes will be given as a credit toward another workshop.
All candlemaking workshops purchased at full price after March 1, 2020 are final sale. If you've purchased a workshop ticket and need to cancel, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and workshop passes will be given as a credit toward another workshop. For all candlemaking workshops purchased at full price prior to March 1, 2020, 48-hour cancellation notice required or fee up to the price paid may apply. If you wish to cancel, please call (202) 340-5536 or contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class time. For cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance, a refund will be issued back to the original form of payment. For cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance, workshop passes will be given as credit towards another workshop.
If you booked your workshop using a gift certificate or third party voucher and are cancelling at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled workshop date, your voucher will be reinstated and available for use toward a future workshop.
What's your cancellation policy for private parties?
All private parties are final sale. If you can not make your scheduled private party, a pass will be given as credit toward a future private party.
I'm running late, what should I do?
As a courtesy to all our guests, we start our classes promptly. If you're going to be late, please give us a call prior to the start of your scheduled class at (202) 340-5536. If you or any member of your party is going to be more than 15 minutes late, please reschedule your class for a later date as late arrivals are extremely disruptive to your fellow chandlers. To reschedule your class, please call (202) 340-5536 or contact us prior to the start of your scheduled workshop.

Banter & Bliss is located inside LA's largest artisan marketplace, CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles. The address is 112 E. 22nd Street, Warehouse #10, San Pedro, CA 91730. Enter the building at the doors between Warehouses #9 and #10. Our workshops are generally held in our studio space. Still can't find us? Call or text message us at (202) 340-5536.
