To keep your candles looking and smelling their best, here are some simple Candle Care tips:
- Trim the Wick: Before each lighting, give your wick a little trim to about 1/4". This helps keep your candle burning evenly.
- Safety First: Never trim your wick while the candle is lit!
- Dispose of Trimmings: Toss any snipped wick pieces in the trash—no one wants those in their jar.
- Center That Wick: Make sure the wick stays centered and clear of the jar’s sides for a perfect burn.
- Melt It All: Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges during each burn to prevent tunneling.
- Get Creative: When your candle is all burned out, don’t toss the jar! Clean it out
and turn it into a cute planter, pencil holder, or whatever sparks joy. Check out our tips for reusing your empties!
Let’s Talk Safety: Since candles have a flame, keeping a few safety tips in mind is key: - Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on your candle, and keep it away from drafts, kids, and pets.
- Limit Your Burn Time: We recommend burning your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
- Watch the Wick: Prevent it from curling over to keep the flame just right.
- Know When to Stop: When you see only 1/4" of wax left, it’s time to say goodbye.
- Handle with Care: Avoid picking up a candle while it’s burning or right after it’s been blown out.
- Protect Your Surfaces: Always place something underneath your candle to keep your surfaces safe.
